Every 5-6 years, Religions for Peace (RfP) convenes a World Assembly of senior-most religious leaders for the purpose of forging a deep moral consensus on contemporary challenges, electing a new World Council, and advancing multi-religious action across and beyond the RfP network.
This year, RfP will convene its 10th World Assembly under the theme Caring for our Common Future in Lindau, Germany from August 20th to 23rd, 2019.
Around 700 religious representatives will come to together to discern commitments to peace that will serve as a shared foundation for multi-religious action. The religious leaders will be joined by representatives of nation States, the United Nations, foundations and other civil society sectors to forge multi-stakeholder partnerships for action.

The European Commission has issued a Call for Proposals to support cross-border and regional civil society initiatives to build sustainable, in-country capacities for effective prevention of violent extremism (PVE) in Central-Asia.
The maximum grant for winning consortium is € 750.000. Submit your proposal by August 23rd, 2019 and find further information here.
The WASH sector is increasingly recognizing the value of engaging with faith actors. Correrspondingly, numerous faith actors have expressed support for WASH programs and the SDGs.
At this year's World Water Week, SIWI and partners at Accord WASH Alliance, Living Water International, SMART Centre group, Tearfund UK and The World Council of Churches are organizing the fourth annual Water and Faith event at the World Water Week. The topic will be "Water and Faith: Mobilizing local faith actors to achieve SDG 6".

Annual Water and Faith Network meeting
This public Showcase will be followed directly by the annual Water and Faith Network meeting from 16.00-18.00. The objective of the Network meeting is to facilitate knowledge exchange and to provide updates on key Water and Faith relevant international processes. Space is limited to one representative per organization.
RSVP to Kristina Johansson (kristina.johansson [at] siwi.org) by 16 August is required to attend the Network meeting.
This meeting will take place at the adjacent hotel and participants will walk over directly following the Showcase. Please note that World Water Week registration is likewise not necessary to participate in the Water and Faith Network meeting but RSVP is required.
