Empowered Worldview: Evidence of faith-based programming on mindsets and child well-being in rural Tanzania

Can faith-based mindset shifts improve child health outcomes? From 2019 to 2024, World Vision International partnered with researchers from the University of Alberta and the Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania to study the impact of the Empowered Worldview (EWV) program. Empowered Worldview is a faith-based behaviour change model that fosters spiritual renewal and mindset transformation. Program leaders, along with researchers from the University of Alberta, will present qualitative and quantitative insights, highlighting the EWV model’s positive influence on hope, self-efficacy, self-reliance and child well-being. The event will also examine how faith, household income and food security shaped participants’ experiences of change.
