United States Agency for International Development (USAID)

USAID is the lead U.S. Government agency that works to end extreme global poverty and enable resilient, democratic societies to realise their potential. Working closely with faith-based and community stakeholders is critical to the success of USAID’s mission. These efforts are coordinated through USAID’s Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (CFBCI). It provides a bridge for faith-based and community groups seeking to connect with USAID’s mission by directing them to appropriate points-of-contact within the Agency, offering resources to help guide them through the partnership process, and providing information about new grant opportunities. Their goal is to convene faith-based and community groups to catalyse new opportunities for collaboration between these groups, and between these groups and the government. CFBCI helps to eliminate barriers encountered by faith-based and community organisations seeking to partner with USAID on a range of global development issues including global health, child survival, and food security.
