King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID)

The King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) is an intergovernmental organisation whose mandate is to promote the use of dialogue globally to prevent and resolve conflict as well as to enhance understanding and cooperation. KAICIID’s mandate and structure were designed to foster dialogue among people of different faiths and cultures that bridges animosities, reduces fear and instils mutual respect. Its interreligious dialogue programmes (IRD) support and help to build communities’ resistance against prejudice, strengthens social cohesion, supports conflict prevention and transformation and can serve to preserve peace. Their IRD training focuses on providing religious leaders with the skills needed to actively support conflict transformation.
