Webinar: Inspiring Action for Climate and Environment: The World Council of Churches’ Living Planet Monitor

EU-CORD is partnering with fellow PaRD member, the World Council of Churches (WCC), to present findings from the recently launched Living Planet Monitor. This groundbreaking publication showcases stories and data from faith-based organisations that are driving change, inspiring hope, and modelling good practice for a flourishing planet.

The Living Planet Monitor looks at faith communities’ engagement in sustainable food systems, land stewardship, biodiversity conservation, and water justice. By tracking indicators such as food security, climate resilience, and land use, it serves as a vital tool to inform, inspire, and connect faith actors committed to ecological justice.
This event is part of the Faith, Climate and Environment conversation series, where EU-CORD members and partners are invited to explore environmental issues through the lens of faith. The event series invites anyone interested in exploring climate issues through the lens of faith to join an open conversation.
Hosted by Christian (Stromme) and Nico (Dorcas), these gatherings provide a space for shared learning, discussion, and connection.

We are honoured to be joined by:

  • Dinesh Suna, Programme Executive for the Ecumenical Water Network and Land, Water and Food Advocacy at the World Council of Churches
  • Athena Peralta, Director of the WCC’s Climate Justice Commission, who will introduce the Ecumenical Decade of Climate Justice Action: 2025–2034—a bold new initiative launched at WCC’s highest governing body meeting in South Africa, aiming to mobilise churches globally in response to the climate emergency
