International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) popularly known as the Hare Krishna community is a worldwide confederation of more than 800 temples, 120 Eco-villages, 100 vegetarian restaurants, and a wide variety of community projects. ISKCON also runs the world’s largest vegetarian food relief program along with being a partner with the Government of India by feeding 1.2 million school children every day with fresh meals. Nearly 10 million worshipers participate in ISKCON’s puja (prayer services) around the world and volunteer their time in diverse fields of religious education, cultural activities, providing free health care services, running rural literacy programs, and environmental preservation among other things.
