We are pleased to inform you about a discussion on engaging transformative religious narratives for the elimination of violence against women, which is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Muslims for Progressive Values, and the United States institute of Peace, working together under PaRD.
This side event to the Ministerial Meeting to advance Religious Freedom seeks to create a space that fosters discussion on the relationship between fundamentalist and extremist narratives of religion or culture. Furthermore, the discussion will encompass multifaceted forms of violence against women and girls, including the positive role religious leaders, actors and organisations can have in tackling gender injustice and eliminating violence against women and girls.
The side event will also give space to a discussion on the importance of a critical analysis of religious narratives and strategies to address and ultimately transform the structures and attitudes that sustain patriarchal and misogynistic gender stereotypes and gender-based violence.
If you would like to attend this event, please follow this link and register by Sunday, July 22nd or contact the PaRD Secretariat for further assistance.
Location:
United States Institute of Peace Tue, July 24th
