International Conference on the 4th anniversary of Laudato Si’ on July 15th-16th 2019 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Four years after the publication of Pope Francis’ Laudatio Si’, calling on all people to be united by the planet that they share to be involved in creating a new dialogue about the future of the planet, the international Laudato Si’ Conference will take place from July 15th-16th, 2019 at the United Nations Office in Nairobi, Kenya.
Speakers will provide a scientific perspective on the current state of the world and talk about the importance of youth engagement. Urgent needs and opportunities in Africa will be addressed, showcasing best practice across the continent on the role of youth leadership and innovation.
The conference will serve as a forum for deeper reflection on Catholic and other faiths’ social teachings on care for the creation from African perspectives, enriched by global perspectives.
Co-organisers are the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, UN Environment, WWF Regional Office for Africa and CYNESA.
