Local Changemakers Course Available in Various Languages to Promote Freedom of Religion or Belief Worldwide 

The Local Changemakers Course, which is available on the FoRB Learning Platform, consists of nine face-to-face workshops designed to enable groups of adults and young people to learn about, value, and promote FoRB in their communities. It is tailored for individuals at the grassroots level who are concerned about religious freedom issues in their communities and seek ways to make a difference.

Offering Courses in Different Languages Improves Accessibility

Providing workshop materials in different languages is important to ensure accessibility and to enable different communities to engage with and benefit from the content. Language-specific materials allow participants to fully understand and internalise the concepts of FoRB, promoting more effective interfaith dialogue and peacebuilding. By providing resources in multiple languages, initiatives such as the Local Changemakers Course empower grassroots organisations around the world to improve their capacity to promote human rights and social cohesion.

Urdu added in 2022

The FoRB learning platform has set itself the task of making learning about FoRB accessible to people who do not speak English. This is why the Local Changemakers Course is available in eight languages: English, Arabic, Bangla, French, Russian, Sinhala, Tamil and Urdu.

Urdu was added in 2022. The language is spoken by almost 70 million people as a first language and by more than 100 million people as a second language, mainly in Pakistan and India. The translation of the material was made possible by Stefanus Alliance International on behalf of the Learning Platform for Freedom of Religion or Belief and with the support of the International Partnership on Religion and Sustainable Development (PaRD).
