The GAM will take place during the first three days and on 11 November, participants will have the chance to attend side events. More details about the venue and agenda will be shared closer to the event dates. PaRD members should register here online by 20 October, 2021. Questions should be directed at the PaRD Secretariat at: annualforum@pard.international. Should the COVID situation make the hybrid format nonviable, a contingency plan is in place to move to an entirely virtual event.
After consultations during their August meeting in Berlin, the Steering Group decided to organise the annual event in collaboration with the National Religious Association for South Africa (NSRAD), a subsidiary of the PaRD member Cape Development and Dialogue Centre Trust (CDDC Trust) in South Africa. The Annual Forum and GAM will provide an opportunity to welcome new members, share experiences and lessons learned, discuss current challenges in the field of religion and sustainable development and set priorities of work. Additionally, the strategic planning for the coming years shall be concluded during the event. During the meeting, elections for the co-chairs and the steering group will take place. Details on the election process, which will be held online before the meeting in South Africa, will be shared as soon as possible.
Initially, this meeting in South Africa was planned for 2020, but due to COVID-19, it was postponed. The Annual Forum and GAM 2020 was therefore held in historical university buildings in Berlin in cooperation with PaRD member Humboldt University and the associated Research Programme on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development. Among others, high-level speakers took part, also representatives from the South African government and the Bishop’s Conference.
The conference will take place at the Protea Marriott Hotel Stellenbosch: https://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/cptst-protea-hotel-stellenbosch/
