PaRD Round Tables: Regional Solutions to Global Problems

During the PaRD Annual Forum and General Assembly (GAM) 2021, the PaRD Health work-stream is organising Regional Round Tables to highlight religion’s COVID-19 response in Southern Africa and Asia.

More than a year and a half into the COVID-19 pandemic, the crisis continues for many countries. Religious and faith-based communities have played a critical role in the response, and many challenges still lie ahead. One of PaRD’s consistent aims has been to ensure that the voices of local religious and faith-based actors are heard. To amplify these voices, the PaRD Health Work-Stream is organising regionally-based forums that bring together local religious and faith communities with key multilateral and government stakeholders to discuss the challenges – and local solutions – to the ongoing pandemic.

During the Partnership on Religion and Development’s (PaRD) Annual Forum and General Assembly of Members (GAM) in Stellenbosch, South Africa, PaRD’s Health Work-Stream invites local religious actors and decision-makers to discuss the solutions they have found.

A round table discussion, “Religious Agency in the Response and Resources to COVID-19”, is planed during the Annual Forum and General Assembly of Members (GAM) on Thursday 11 November 2021.

In addition, also on Thursday 11 November 2021, two regional round table discussions focused on the Southern African Region and the Asian Region are planned.
