On August 31st, the PaRD secretariat in Bonn welcomed a high-level delegation of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF). Representatives of the LWF and the PaRD secretariat discussed about how to intensify the interchange between Geneva-based partners and the secretariat and talked about common areas of interest. Integral part of the meeting was a visit at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

An atmosphere of collegiality and mutual interest characterised the highly constructive exchange between the PaRD secretariat and the LWF.

In the course of the meeting, delegates of the LWF emphasised their organisation´s special interest in PaRD´s work-streams on SDG#5: Gender Equality and Empowerment and on SDG#16: Sustainable Peace. The LWF has been engaged in the field of women´s rights and gender justice for a long time now. Likewise, the LWF has a broad expertise in the field of peace building and resilience. Representatives of the LWF underlined the importance of an exchange about good practices and lessons learnt. In this context, PaRD can provide learning hubs and constitute a framework for interchange in order to facilitate mutual understanding and cooperation between FBOs, bi- and multilateral actors.
