At the General Assembly of Members in Bangkok, PaRD launched its new brochure “Religion in Global Affairs: The Contributions of Religious Actors to Education, Environmental Protection, Gender Equality, Human Rights, Peace, and Well-Being”.
The brochure brings together initiatives from PaRD members and other religious actors around the world. Organised in five chapters on health, climate, gender, peace, and education, it shows through concrete examples how religious actors contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals. The stories range from the first Faith Pavilion at COP28 and faith-sensitive mental health support for children on the move to the work of Buddhist monks for human rights in Thailand’s Pattani region, carried out by PaRD member IBHAP, host of this year’s General Assembly of Members.
In his foreword, Khushwant Singh, Head of the PaRD Secretariat, makes the case for why these stories matter and looks ahead to the next chapter of PaRD.
The brochure is available for download here.
