Empowered Worldview: Evidence of faith-based programming on mindsets and child well-being in rural Tanzania

Can faith-based mindset shifts improve child health outcomes?
From 2019 to 2024, World Vision International partnered with researchers from the University of Alberta and the Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania to study the impact of the Empowered Worldview (EWV) program. Empowered Worldview is a faith-based behaviour change model that fosters spiritual renewal and mindset transformation. Program leaders, along with researchers from the University of Alberta, will present qualitative and quantitative insights, highlighting the EWV model’s positive influence on hope, self-efficacy, self-reliance and child well-being. The event will also examine how faith, household income and food security shaped participants’ experiences of change.

Webinar: Strategic Religious Engagement in Ecology, Sustainability, and Conservation in Indonesia

From mid-2024 to early 2025, PaRD undertook a research and learning project with partners at the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, World Vision Germany and Indonesia, the Joint Learning Initiative (JLI), and the Indonesian Consortium for Religious Studies. The project aimed to apply a “Strategic Religious Engagement” lens to the topic of environmental action in Indonesia, i.e. how the engagement between governments, development organisations, and religious actors on environmental topics can be promoted. Formative research was conducted on the topic with in-depth interviews and a two-day workshop in Jakarta with key stakeholders was held.
